It’s not just House Republicans who find President Obama’s budget to be weak tea. Even the Washington Post editorial page opines that the budget is based on gimmicks and wishful thinking. Essentially, the Obama administration has decided to defer the opening coin toss, knowing full well that a government shutdown is not a viable option for Republicans.
With that said, there are enough fiscal hawks in Congress who might be willing to step up to the plate and force a discussion on entitlement reform. So hunker down, because President Obama’s definition of “give a little bit” might be as elastic as President Clinton’s definition of “is” was.
