Newt Gingrich To Reassess Presidential Bid

Newt Gingrich helped make all of the GOP presidential candidates stronger candidates, particularly when it came to debating and discussing America's energy needs. Now it is time for Gingrich to figure out how he can best assist the Republican Party and its presidential nominee - Mitt Romney. Politico's Ginger Gibson has more:

Following his five-state shutout Tuesday night, Newt Gingrich sent the strongest signal yet that he’s nearing the end of his tottering campaign.

“We’re going to look realistically at where we’re at,” Gingrich said at an election-night rally in North Carolina. “We are going to think carefully about how we can be the most helpful to this country.”

[A]ny hope that Gingrich might have had that he would qualify for the convention ballot this summer — a candidate must win in at least five states to qualify for the nomination — was extinguished Tuesday night.
