Ford O’Connell On The GOP’s Winning Strategy For Defeating Obama In 2012 At Politico’s Arena

When voters cast their ballot next year in the 2012 presidential election, it will be a referendum on President Obama’s performance more so than a strong endorsement (or rejection) of the eventual Republican presidential nominee.

That said, fiscal discipline as it relates to government spending is now the issue of this decade. Given the enormity of our national debt and the sheer size of current federal and state deficits, any time a candidate vying for the Republican presidential nomination can provide a solution to either of these pressing domestic problems, it presents a win-win situation for the GOP in its quest to unseat President Obama.
