Michigan GOP Gubernatorial Nomination Up For Grabs

On Aug. 3, Michigan voters will head to the polls to decide the Republican nominee for Governor in the Wolverine State.

The three frontrunners for the GOP nomination are Attorney General Mike Cox,U.S. Rep. Pete Hoekstra and Ann Arbor businessman Rick Snyder.

According to the most recent EPIC/MRA survey, all three candidates are essentially locked in a “dead heat.”

On the Dem side, current Governor Jennifer Granholm is prohibited from seeking a third term. Virg Bernero and Andy Dillon are battling for the Democratic gubernatorial nomination.

The Michigan Governor’s mansion is a legitimate pick-up opportunity for the GOP as RealClearPolitics.com rates the race: “Leans GOP.”
