We know former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman was able to make a compelling pitch to GOP insiders to land some high-end bundlers and to ink top-flight political talent. Huntsman now has a narrow window to make an equally compelling pitch to rank-and-file primary voters. He’s riding low in the polls right now, but if he can boost his name ID significantly over the next several weeks, he could have an outside shot at winning the nomination.
Of course, this year’s GOP race seems to have a new candidate each week. Should Texas Gov. Rick Perry enter, Huntsman could find his sails quickly deflated.
